Description
This error can be encountered with the following tools:
- The Sort Coded Value Domain tool requires the geodatabase to be at version 10.0 or later.
- The Prune Branch History tool has a dependency that requires the stored procedure sde_branch_modified_clean_no_date_match. This stored procedure was introduced to all database platforms in ArcGIS Pro 3.4 and backported to earlier versions with patches; however, compatibility varies by platform.

For other tools, this error indicates that the version of geodatabase is unable to support the operation.
Solution
Upgrade your geodatabase to the current version, using the Upgrade Geodatabase tool.
