The geocoder may be missing or damaged.
From the Business Analyst drop-down menu, select Preferences. Select the Datasets tab and click the browse button next to the Choose an address locator drop-down button. Browse to Program Files\ArcGIS\Business Analyst\Data\USA Geocoding Service. Select the USA Geocoding Service locator (if you are using a nonstandard locator, point to that locator instead). A Windows error may have occurred to break the link to the locator. Following these steps will reestablish the link and allow you to geocode customer and store files. If the problem persists, it is suggested you replace the existing locator with the standard Business Analyst locator, which can be found on your Business Analyst DVD installation disc.
