Description
The unregister and register as versioned operations cannot be completed on a dataset that has archiving enabled.
Under the following conditions, the operation is not supported:
- Nonversioned archive enabled dataset—Attempting to register the dataset as versioned (traditional or branch)
- Traditional versioned archive enabled dataset—Attempting to unregister the dataset as versioned
Solution
Certain datasets that have archiving enabled cannot be registered or unregistered as versioned without first disabling archiving. The correct order of operations must be followed.
First, disable archiving on the dataset. Then, complete the unregister or register as versioned operation. Note that the archiving history will be lost when you disable archiving.
