Install the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension

The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension is installed with three separate setups:

  • The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for ArcGIS Desktop
  • The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for ArcGIS Server
  • The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for ArcGIS Pro

Install Data Interoperability on ArcGIS Pro

ArcGIS Data Interoperability for ArcGIS Pro requires a per machine (all users) installation of ArcGIS Pro. Ensure that the Anyone who uses this computer (all users) option is checked in the ArcGIS Pro Setup window when installing ArcGIS Pro. Refer to Install ArcGIS Pro for more information.

To install the Data Interoperability extension on ArcGIS Pro, first download the extension from My Esri. After you complete the download, you are ready to install the software, which is a separate installation.

Authorize the extension

Once the Data Interoperability extension is authorized with a valid license, you can access the FME Workbench application and create ETL tools.

Single use license

Single-use installations of the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension require an authorization file. If your ArcGIS Pro Single Use installation is not licensed to use the Data Interoperability extension, you can obtain an authorization file from My Esri.

After you receive your authorization file, open ArcGIS Administrator. Click Authorize Now, choose the I have received an authorization file from Esri and am now ready to finish the registration process option, click Next, and click Browse to locate your saved provisioning (.prvc) file.

Concurrent use license

ArcGIS Desktop Concurrent Use installations borrow a license from your license manager. If all licenses for the extension are currently in use by other users, you will not be able to use the extension until a license becomes available.

To view your current licenses, open ArcGIS Administrator.

Named user license

With the Named User license type, ArcGIS Pro core and extension licenses are assigned to members of an ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise organization by the organization administrator. An ArcGIS Pro license is assigned automatically to members who have the GIS Professional user type. It can be assigned as an add-on license to members who have the Creator user type.

An organization member who has been assigned an ArcGIS Pro license uses their ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account credentials to sign in to ArcGIS Pro. The member can sign in to the application on any machine on which it is installed (up to three machines at the same time).

The application runs with the license level (Advanced, Standard, or Basic) specified by the organization administrator and with any extensions for which licenses have been assigned. The license type and level can be seen in the ArcGIS Pro Settings on the Licensing page.
