Preset layers are a simple way to author a well-performing map. There are different types of preset layers to display different types of features. The Realistic Trees and Thematic Trees preset layers are optimized for data in which the type of tree is defined for each feature by genus.
Supported tree genus names are listed, sorted by common name. Data with matching genus names is drawn with the corresponding tree model. Data with an unknown or undefined genus is drawn with the Generic Tree symbol, unless the data value corresponds, at least partially, to a Common Name listed below. This fallback method for symbolizing trees is only supported in ArcGIS Pro, and is not honored if the layer is published to the Web and consumed in the Scene Viewer.
Legacy:
Preset layers created before ArcGIS Pro 2.1 draw with updated tree models in newer versions of the software. The differences are minor and enable the trees to draw faster.
