ArcGIS Pro 2.7 includes a set of predefined tasks for administering and editing a parcel fabric.
Predefined tasks are general guides on how to perform different workflows in a functional area of ArcGIS Pro and can be edited and configured for your organization. Predefined task files are located in the \Resources\Tasks folder in your ArcGIS Pro installation directory, for example, C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\Tasks\en-US.
The following two task files are available for the parcel fabric:
- Parcel Fabric Administration.esriTasks, which contains tasks for administering a parcel fabric
- Record Driven Workflows.esriTasks, which contains tasks for common parcel editing workflows
The Parcel Fabric Administration task file contains tasks for the following workflows:
- Upgrade an ArcMap parcel fabric
- Set up the information model
- Load data into the parcel fabric
- Publish the parcel fabric
The Record Driven Workflows task file contains tasks for the following workflows:
- Merge parcels
- Parcel split: parent parcels
- Parcel split: metes-and-bounds
- Parcel split: area description
- Build parcels from CAD lines
Import and open a task
To import the parcel fabric task files into your project, follow these steps:
- On the Insert tab, click the Task drop-down arrow, point to Import and Open Task File, and click the ParcelFabric folder.
- On the Import dialog box, choose the task file you want to import and click OK.
The task file is added as a task item to the Tasks folder in the Catalog pane and is opened in the Tasks pane.
- In the Tasks pane, select a task and click Open Task to run it. You can also double-click a task to run it.
Set task resources and fix errors
When using a predefined task, you must point the task resources to the map and layers in your project before running the task. Broken task resources are listed as errors under Messages in the Tasks pane.
The Parcel Fabric Administration and Record Driven Workflows task items can have the following errors:
- The task <task name> is referencing maps that are inaccessible. This Task Item might have been designed for a different project.
- The action in step <step name> in task <task name> uses a layer or table <name> that does not exist.
Fix the broken resource errors that reference inaccessible maps first. Point the broken task resource to the name of your map in your project to fix broken layer resources at the same time.
To fix the broken resource errors that reference inaccessible maps and layers, follow these steps:
- In the Tasks pane under the Messages tab, select the error message about broken maps and click Show Me.
- Under the Resources tab in the Task Designer pane, choose All broken resources from the drop-down list.
- Select the Parcel Editing Map broken map resource and choose the correct map resource from the Set selected resource to drop-down list.
Once the correct map resource is chosen, broken layer resources automatically appear. You can now fix these broken layer resources and point them to the correct layers in your map.
- Select the Parcel broken layer resource and choose the correct parcel polygon layer resource for the task.
This is the parcel type polygon layer that will be used by the task.
- Select the ParcelLines broken layer resource and choose the correct parcel line layer resource for the task.
This is the parcel type line layer that will be used by the task.
Configure a task
The Parcel Fabric Administration and Record Driven Workflow tasks are general guides on how to perform parcel fabric administration and editing workflows. You can configure and change the tasks, or create new tasks fo your organization.
You can configure the parcel fabric tasks for your organization in the following ways:
- Add or remove steps.
- Change the step behavior.
- Change the action the step performs.
- Change the active map view for each step.
- Change how layers behave in the Contents pane.
- Track task usage history.
To configure a parcel fabric task, right-click the imported task file (task item) under the Tasks folder in the Catalog pane and click Edit In Designer . Alternatively, you can open the task, click Options in the Tasks pane, and click Edit In Designer.
To create a task item, click the Task drop-down arrow on the Insert tab and click New Task Item .
