00079: Cache spatial reference does not match map/dataset/layer spatial reference

When publishing a map, dataset, or layer, the spatial reference (coordinate system) of the map, dataset, or layer is different than the spatial reference required by the chosen tiling scheme. All tiling schemes are associated with a certain spatial reference. The spatial reference must match the spatial reference of the tiling scheme for tiles to be created.

Learn more about tiling scheme requirements.

Solution

  • For a map, change the coordinate system of the map to the same coordinate system used in the tiling scheme. For guidance on setting the map's coordinate system, see Specify a coordinate system.

  • For a dataset or layer, use the ArcGIS Online / Bing Maps / Google Maps tiling scheme, the WGS 1984 Geographic Coordinate System, Version 2 tiling scheme, or a tiling scheme that has the same spatial reference as the dataset or layer.
  • For an elevation layer using the CGCS2000 Geographic Coordinate System tiling scheme, reproject the source data to China Geodetic Coordinate System 2000 (WKID 4490) using the Project tool.

More information

If you are using the ArcGIS Online / Google Maps / Bing Maps tiling scheme, this spatial reference is WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere). If you are using the WGS 1984 Geographic Coordinate System, Version 2 tiling scheme, this spatial reference is WGS 1984 Geographic Coordinate System. If you are using a tiling scheme file, the spatial reference is the same as the map from which you originally created the tiling scheme.
