00387: Dictionary symbology must reference a dictionary web style

A layer in the map uses dictionary symbology configured with a dictionary desktop style file (.stylx). Dictionary desktop styles are not supported when sharing web feature layers that copy all data.

Solution

Configure the dictionary symbology to use a dictionary web style.

  1. Hover over the analyzer message, click the Options button Options that appears, and click Open Symbology Pane.
  2. In the Symbology pane, click the More drop-down menu and click Add custom dictionary.
  3. On the Add a style file dialog box, under Portal Online, click a content collection, such as ArcGIS Online ArcGIS Online and search for a style using the search box at the top of the dialog box.

Styles available in the content collection appear in the contents list on the right.

An assortment of ArcGIS Pro Styles are available in ArcGIS Online. For example, the Joint Military Symbology MIL-STD-2525C is a dictionary web style you can use in a project.

  4. Click a dictionary web style Web Style to select it and click OK.

If there is no dictionary web style available, you can share a style containing dictionary symbology as a web style.
