Set options for saving edits

Application options for saving edits include settings for automatic saves, displaying dialog boxes for saving and discarding edits, and deactivating a tool after committing your edits. These options are available on the Options dialog box on the Editing side tab.

Save automatically

To set ArcGIS Pro to automatically save edits at recurring time intervals or after a specified number of operations, or to turn off this option, complete the following steps:

  1. On the ribbon, click the Edit tab and click the Options dialog box launcher Launcher in the Manage Edits group.

    The Options dialog box appears.

  2. Click the Editing side tab and expand Session.
  3. Check the Automatically save edits check box.

To turn this option off, uncheck this setting.

  4. Choose one of the following recurring save cycles and type a numeric value:
    • Time interval (minutes)—Saves your edits when the timer reaches the specified elapsed time.

      Note:

The timer starts after your first edit operation, and it is reset after each save.

    • Number of operations—Saves your edits when the counter reaches the specified number of operations.
      Note:

The counter starts after your first edit operation, and it is reset after each save. Clicking Undo Undo decrements the counter. Conversely, Redo Redo increments the counter.

  5. Click OK.

Your settings are saved and the dialog box closes.
