Available for an ArcGIS organization licensed with the ArcGIS IPS extension.
You can configure a map as IPS-aware by associating it with an existing Indoor Positioning Data Service published on your ArcGIS Online organization or Enterprise portal.

IPS-aware maps are primarily ArcGIS Indoors maps. It is recommended that any IPS-aware map be created as floor aware.
To configure an IPS-aware map, complete the following steps:
- Start ArcGIS Pro.
- Open an ArcGIS IPS map or prepare a new map in ArcGIS Pro.
- Ensure that the portal where you want to configure the map is the active portal in ArcGIS Pro and that it contains an Indoor Positioning Data Service.
- In the Contents pane, right-click the map and click Properties.
The Map Properties dialog box appears.
- Click Indoor Positioning on the side of the dialog box.
- Click Browse next to Indoor Positioning Data Service.
The Choose one or more items with subtpyes dialog box appears.
- Browse to and choose the Indoor Positioning Data Service item that corresponds with the floor plan data in the map.
- Click OK to close the Map Properties dialog box and to point the map to the selected Indoor Positioning Data Service.
- Save the project.
