ArcGIS Indoors allows you to create and manage data and share maps and services in support of the following applications: ArcGIS Indoors Web, ArcGIS Indoors for iOS, and ArcGIS Indoors for Android. These apps allow you to find a location or resource within a facility or site that includes several facilities. Once you find a place you are looking for, you can choose to get directions to that place to plan your travel time, or use it to log an issue for a fix or replacement of an item with Survey123 for ArcGIS.
ArcGIS Indoors allows you to curate the data, author maps, and share them to ArcGIS Enterprise, where Indoors Web, Indoors for iOS, and Indoors for Android can access them.
Create Indoors data
Data creation involves the following high-level process that can be mostly automated using geoprocessing tools available with ArcGIS Indoors.
- Create the geodatabase.
- Load the floor plans and points of interest (POIs).
- Create the Indoors network.
Some required tables need additional configuration.

The map authoring process is different based on which app will be used to deploy ArcGIS Indoors.
You can optionally configure your database for issue reporting with Survey123 for ArcGIS.
Indoors for iOS or Indoors for Android
You will need to create a mobile map package to use with ArcGIS Indoors for Android or ArcGIS Indoors for iOS. You can optionally configure device tracking for a mobile device.
You can optionally configure your database for issue reporting with Survey123 for ArcGIS as well as device tracking for mobile devices.
Sharing to your Enterprise portal
Once your map (and optionally scene) is ready, you'll need to share it as a web map to your Enterprise portal so that Indoors Web can access it. There is additional configuration that occurs in the Indoors Web side to make the map work seamlessly.
