Save and load filter files

Once you create a filter set, you can save the filter settings in a filter file and apply it to data in a Bathymetric Information System (BIS) in ArcGIS Pro or in the Bathymetry web app. Filter settings are saved as JSON text files that have a .filter extension. These metadata filters allow you to create a subset of BIS data for your workflows based on the requirements applied to the metadata values of the BIS.

Save filter files

Complete the following steps to save filter files:

  1. Review the map and the BisCatalog attributes table in ArcGIS Pro to confirm that the filters capture the appropriate data.

You can reset the Explore Bathymetry pane to clear the filter parameter values or refresh the pane to reflect changes to the BIS.

  2. Click the Menu button メニュー at the top of the Explore Bathymetry pane and click Save As Filter File.

The Save Filter File dialog box appears.

  3. Browse to the location where you want to save the filter file.
  4. Type a name for the file in the File name text box.
  5. Click Save.

You can now use the saved filter by opening the filter file in the Explore Bathymetry pane when you have added a BisCatalog or BisBDI layer to a map or by loading it in the Bathymetry web app.

Load a filter file

To use a filter that you previously saved, you must open it in the Explore Bathymetry pane or the Bathymetry web app. To use a saved filter file in ArcGIS Pro, ensure that you have added the Explore Bathymetry group layer to the map so that the pane is active.

注意:

The schema of the layers you want to filter must match that of the BIS in which the filter was created.

Complete the steps below to open a filter file in ArcGIS Pro:

  1. Click the options menu at the top of the Explore Bathymetry pane and click Open Filter File.

The Open Filter File dialog box appears.

  2. Browse to the location where the filter file you want to use is saved.

Filter files use a .filter extension.

  3. Click OK.

The filters are applied to the Explore Bathymetry group layer when the file filter is loaded.
