Explore simulation results with pop-ups

Click any cell of simulated water to open a pop-up window that lists the details of that cell. These details include the following:

  • Water depth in meters (m)
  • Water speed in meters per second (m/s)
  • Water flow rate in cubic meters per second (m³/s)
  • Water flow direction in degrees (°)

Pop-ups are not returned for water sources, drainage, or barriers individually but, the pop-up can be further configured to include statistical information about such elements. To configure a pop-up for a simulation layer, right-click the layer in the Contents pane and click Configure Pop-ups to open the Configure Pop-ups pane.

Arcade expressions can be used, for example, to convert the default details into a different unit of measure.

Alternatively, the pop-up can be disabled so that no pop-up is seen when the simulated water cell is clicked. Right-click the simulation layer in the Contents pane and click Disable Pop-ups .

Add element values to a pop-up Fields element

The Fields element of a simulation pop-up can be configured to include additional information about each added simulation element. Each element type can only include values from a predetermined list of available values. The order these elements appear in the pop-up matches the order seen in the Contents pane and cannot be altered.

The list of values available for each simulation element are the following:

Simulation elementAvailable values

Water Source Areas

  • Current Flow Rate
  • Area

Water Source Points

  • Current Flow Rate

Channels

  • Diameter
  • Length
  • Slope

Water Sink Areas

  • Current Flow Rate
  • Current Amount
  • Maximum Intake
  • Area

Barriers

  • Height
  • Width
  • Length

To add a simulation element value to a Fields element in a pop-up, perform the following steps:

  1. Right-click the simulation layer in the Contents pane and click Configure Pop-ups Configure pop-ups.

    The Configure Pop-ups pane appears.

  2. In the Configure Pop-ups pane, double-click the Fields element or click the Edit pop-up element button to edit the properties of the Fields element.
  3. Expand the simulation element type header, for example Barriers, and check each element to be included in the pop-up.

A list of available values appears at the end of each heading list.

  4. Check each value to be included.

    Note:
If no values are checked, the element itself is unchecked when the changes are saved.

  5. Click Back to commit your changes.
