ArcGIS Topographic Mapping provides task-based workflows involving ArcGIS Workflow Manager to work with authoritative data schemas. Each workflow is task focused and can be performed by a single technician. This helps technicians understand what work they are required to do in ArcGIS Pro or the Workflow Manager web app.
The topographic production workflows are designed to help automate, streamline, and manage topographic data and map production. The workflows use a task-groups-and-tasks concept. A task is a focused unit of work that a single person can run. Task groups are composed of multiple tasks that are run in sequence to complete a type of work. For example, a task group to perform data extraction and imagery capture can be composed of tasks to collect, validate, and publish data. By creating focused tasks as individual jobs, organizations can track and report on the time it takes to complete individual tasks and gauge production stages.
