Share an IPS-aware map

Available for an ArcGIS organization licensed with the ArcGIS IPS extension.

You can share an IPS-aware map as a web map to your ArcGIS organization or as a mobile map package (MMPK) for online and offline workflows. These maps can be used with applications that support ArcGIS IPS or with custom applications built using the ArcGIS Maps SDKs for native apps.

Note:

Certain ArcGIS applications may require additional configuration for ArcGIS IPS or may support only one of the two map formats. Refer to your application's documentation for more information.

Share an IPS-aware map as a web map

An IPS-aware map can be shared as a web map. If you plan to use an IPS-aware map with the ArcGIS IPS Setup app for IPS, testing, or troubleshooting, review the instructions for sharing a map for IPS Setup.

Share an IPS-aware map as a mobile map package

IPS-aware maps support online and offline workflows with mobile map packages (MMPKs). These workflows are controlled using the Reference online content option in the share a mobile map package tool.

If you plan to use the MMPK online, ensure that the Reference online content option is checked. This maintains the reference to the online Indoor Positioning Data Service, which is useful when updating the service to extend IPS coverage or improve positioning performance. If the Reference online content option is unchecked, the positioning data stored in the referenced Indoor Positioning Data Service is downloaded and packaged with the map, enabling fully disconnected workflows where an internet connection is not available.
