Introduction to IPS-aware maps

Available for an ArcGIS organization licensed with the ArcGIS IPS extension.

IPS-aware maps allow you to locate yourself indoors by displaying your current position on a map. IPS aware refers to maps that include a reference to an Indoor Positioning Data Service, a web feature service that contains data required to support indoor positioning with ArcGIS IPS. IPS-aware maps can be used with applications that support ArcGIS IPS or with custom applications that use ArcGIS Maps SDKs for native apps. The data in an Indoor Positioning Data Service is consumed through the IndoorsLocationDataSource class, which is available in the Maps SDKs for .NET, Kotlin, Swift, and QT.

To share an IPS-aware map to your ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online organization, the organization must contain an Indoor Positioning Data Service. Once the service has been shared to your organization, you can configure an IPS-aware map in ArcGIS Pro and share it for use with ArcGIS IPS Setup or other IPS-enabled apps.
