Add a new presentation to a project

A presentation is a collection of pages that can interactively display the maps or scenes in a project—along with supporting descriptive text, images, or videos—in a full-screen manner. They are stored in the project and listed as items in the Presentation folder category of the Catalog pane. A presentation opens in a presentation view where you can preview and design the pages included in the presentation.

A presentation can be created for many reasons, including but not limited to, environmental management, or military and law enforcement operations. For example, you can use presentations to show an updated design proposal for a new development, to summarize the analysis results of a recent investigation, or to share the current status of recent field work. You can use presentations to share information with colleagues, supervisors, or even non-GIS audiences without leaving ArcGIS Pro.

Create a presentation

You can create a blank presentation and insert pages, add elements, customize properties, and design the final full screen experience.

To create a presentation, do the following:

1. On the Insert tab, in the Project group, click New Presentation .

   A new empty presentation opens in a presentation view.

2. In the Contents pane for the presentation, click Insert Page and choose a page type:

   Map	Map pages are made from any map or scene in the project. Use the gallery to choose an open extent or bookmarked view.
   Blank	Blank pages allow you to apply styling and overlay information manually. Blank pages can include a title or title and paragraph space preformatted on the page.
   Image	Image pages use an image file as the page background. Supported image file formats are BMP, EMF, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF.
   Video	Video pages use a video file as the page background. Supported video files supported are AVI, MP4, MPEG, and GIF.

   The new page opens in the presentation view. Multiselect is supported for maps, images, and video files so you can create multiple pages at once.

3. To modify properties for a page, right-click the page in the Contents pane and click Properties to open the Page Properties pane.
4. To add elements to the page, click the Insert tab and choose an element from the gallery in the Elements group.
5. In the Contents pane, click Insert Page again to create additional pages in the presentation.
6. Expand the Presentations folder node in the Catalog pane to manage the presentations in the project.

   You can view and edit metadata; export, remove, copy, or open the presentation; and access properties for the presentation.

Once a presentation has been added to the project and contains pages to display, it can be supplemented with elements, configured properties and transitions, speaker notes, presented in full screen or shared in multiple format types including PDF, images, video, or a presentation file (.prsx).

Import a presentation

Existing presentations in the project or from a different project can be saved as presentation files (.prsx) and imported. You can edit the presentation as desired. By default, importing a presentation file copies all of the maps referenced by the presentation.

To import an existing presentation file to the project, do the following:

1. On the Insert tab, in the Project group, click the New Presentation drop-down list and select Import Presentation .
2. On the Import dialog box, browse to the desired presentation file (.prsx) and click OK.

   A new presentation is added to the project and opened.

3. Modify the existing pages, properties, or elements in the presentation or add new pages or elements to finish the presentation.

Once a presentation view has been closed, the presentation still exists in the project. You can reopen a presentation in the project by double-clicking it from within the Presentation folder in the Catalog pane.
